Young Living Essential oils are pure organic therapeutic-grade oils. The information below is only attributed to these oils. Other oils may be adulterated and contain toxins and thus should never be used the same way.

Here is a list of some ways that YL oils can be used to promote good health…

1. Affect the psyche
The aroma of essential oils triggers physiological and psychological responses. 14. Soothe burns, sunburns, minor cuts, and scrapes

Rene-Maurice Gattefosse (1881-1950) the father of aromatherapy, tells of an explosion in his laboratory that covered his arms in severe burns. He rinsed the burns with lavender essential oils, and they began healing the very next day. Only therapeutic-grade essential oils are antiseptic and cleansing to minor cuts and scrapes.

Caution: do NOT use cheap lavender for burns as it will cause the opposite results!

15. Excellent choice for oral and dental care

More bacteria live on the back of the tongue than any other part of the body. Proper cleaning and flossing do more than protect the teeth, which is precisely why Young Living developed the “edible” and highly effective Thieves Dental Care product line! Research indicates that oral bacteria can cause heart disease. Essential oils are often major ingredients in mouthwash and dental care products that kill the microbes that cause tooth decay.
Oils such as: clove, myrrh, thyme, peppermint

A word on Clove essential oil: many essential oil companies use the essential oil of clove leaves and/or bark for their essential oil because it is cheaper. While these essential oils ‘may’ smell good to the untrained nose.

The truth is… ONLY the essential oil from the Clove ‘bud’ contains the beneficial constituents.

If you’re not using Clove essential oil that is distilled properly and from the ‘bud’ you are wasting your money and you’re NOT getting the therapeutic benefits you could be getting. This is one reason why Young Living Essential Oils are the best aromatherapy essential oils your money can buy.

16. Hair health

Many shampoos and personal care items contain harmful ingredients, such as propylene glycol (antifreeze) and sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS), the main chemical in degreasers. SLS may corrode hair follicles and impair hair growth. SLS is stored in fatty tissue of the heart, liver, lungs, and brain. Essential oils are effective for hair rejuvenation and may help get rid of dandruff, itchy, flakey scalp issues.

Young Living single oils: sandalwood, rosewood, rosemary, ylang ylang, lemon, lavender, sage, cedarwood

17. More alert and focused

Many scientific studies have been performed on the value of therapeutic essential oils and their positive effect on the brain. Learn more about why smelling essential oils, i.e., aroma-therapy, has such beneficial effects.

18. Protect against cancer

A vast amount of research indicates that constituents of essential oils may play a major role in cancer prevention and act as an adjunct to cancer therapies. Numerous studies on essential oils seem promising for specific types of cancer.

Another way Young Living Essential Oils can protect against cancer is that by using them, you’re more than likely NOT using something else that causes cancer! So rather than use questionable products that are known cancer causing agents, you can simply use an essential oil in place of a toxic product – learn more about switching over.

19. Alternative to toxic household cleaners

20. First Aid

Essential oils were humankind’s first medicine so it only makes sense that many have rediscovered what our ancestors knew so well, how the plant kingdom can help our bodies heal. The ways therapeutic-grade essential oils can be used in the First Aid kit are many and varied, the above is just a small sampling.

Young Living has a few kits that are a good start for those looking to get into holistic and complimentary healing and health. The kits are: Essential 7, Everyday Oils, and Golden To

Using Young Living essential oils safely:

Be sure to use a carrier oil (a vegetable oil such as Young Living’s V-6) with your YL oils, the essential oils are extremely concentrated and you should never use more than 1-4 drops with a tablespoon of carrier oil.

Keep all essential oils away from eyes. If an essential oil gets into the eyes apply a little olive oil to dilute – NEVER use water to dilute an essential oil.

Do not use peppermint, or any of the hot/spicy essential oils on an open wound.

Do not use essential oils directly on babies or children under the age of 5, if epileptic, or pregnant without first consulting your doctor.
